Treatments are usually done
once per week. The number
of treatments varies based
upon conditions treated,
but about 8 is average.
The treatments use a variety of osteopathic manipulations, which combine to
effectively address structural ailments. High velocity techniques (popping and
cracking) are very seldom used.
We recommend:
1) Schedule up to 8 appointments initially, so as not to have to wait for follow
up. If this is more that you need, you can cancel with 24 hours notice.
2) Be advised that treatments can cause soreness, which can feel like an
exacerbation of your symptoms for up to 48 hours (sometimes a little longer).
3) Discontinue other forms of bodywork, if possible, for the duration of your
treatments at Missoula Osteopathic Clinic, PLLC.
4) Avoid vigorous activity for 48 hours after osteopathic treatments.
5) Drink plenty of water after treatments.
6) Apply no local treatments (heat, ice, massage, adjustments, chiropractic, etc.)
after osteopathic treatment, for 48 hours.
7) If you have no medical reasons that require you avoid them, and they do not
hurt you, please begin The Stretches two times per day. If they cause you any
problems at all, discontinue them until you see Dr. Wallace.
8) Print Downloadable Patient Forms, fill out and bring them with you, or come
to the clinic 20 minutes early and fill them out here. If you have a complex
medical history, these forms may take longer, please allow yourself enough time.
