About Osteopathy
Osteopathy is unique in that D.O.s (see
below) have full medical training and
licensing, as well as in-depth training in the
body structure, anatomy and physiology,
and how these relate to health and illness.
When combined with a philosophy that
structure and function are always
interrelated, and the practice of
osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM),
dramatic improvements in previously
unsolvable problems often occur.
About D.O.s
A Doctor of Osteopathy (D. O.) is a fully licensed
physician whose training includes, beyond the
normal medical curriculum, extensive training in
manual manipulation. Although many
osteopathic physicians are in family practice or
providing specialty care, some have chosen to
focus their practice on the hands on approach
that makes osteopathy unique. Of these, some
have pursued additional training in cranial
osteopathy. At this clinic, these techniques are
used to improve function through addressing
body structure.
